LIVERPOOL DROP MORE POINTS AND CITY OPEN THREE POINTS GAP

Feb, 4th 2021 – Liverpool are now seven points behind leaders Manchester City having played a game more a shock one nil defeat in the hands of Brighton at Anfield.

The Reds have not won at home since 16 December and have failed to score in three consecutive games at Anfield for the first time since October 1984.

After going 68 games without a league defeat at their home ground, Jurgen Klopp’s side have now also lost back-to-back games there. Klopp’s next match is Manchester city at Anfield and a loss will mean a third consecutive defeat on their home turf.

Reds Left back Andy Robertson thinks they can still recover from the slump .

Any game against Manchester City is a big one,” added Scotland captain Robertson. “As this moment stands, we’re not in the title race. We are seven points behind them and they have a game in hand.

I’m sure they’d say the same if they were potentially 10 points behind. We need to get back to the Liverpool everyone knows. We’re still a good team. We don’t turn into a bad team overnight.”

Meanwhile ,Manchester city beat Burnley two nil to open a three-point gap on top of the English premier league. Gabriel Jesus and Raheem sterling got the goals for the citizens to push them to 47 points, three above rivals United.
