Government to review Private Public Partnerships for Country development

Feb, 2nd 2021 – The government plans to review the Private Public Partnerships (PPP) act, to allow for more development in the county. The Principle secretary state department for planning Saitoti Torome says, PPP’s has not yet yielded good results for the country.

He adds reviewing the act will strengthen it, allowing more investors to come to the country. He quoted that there are many opportunities in the country that can be developed through PPP’s.

Speaking in KIsumu while presiding over key investment opportunities meeting, Torome said local and foreign investors must be given a platform to offer their expertise. 

He further said that the government currently has a number of infrastructure projects  in Kisumu being undertaken through PPP’s such as the Kisumu Special economic zone, paga beach amusement and heritage park, lake basin housing development project, Muhoroni-agro industrial park and cotton genery factory.
