Wamalwa Signals Imminent Breakup of Azimio Coalition Amidst ODM ‘Betrayal’

DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa has revealed that the Azimio coalition is on the verge of breaking apart, attributing this to what he describes as a betrayal by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

During a recent interview with local media, Wamalwa voiced his concerns that the opposition coalition has lost its direction, signaling that his party, DAP-K, will soon make its formal exit.

“As Azimio we have lost direction and we have sinned against the people of Kenya and fallen short of glory. We are doing something about it and very soon you will hear from us,” said Wamalwa.

Wamalwa sharply criticized ODM members who have chosen to align themselves with the government, arguing that this betrayal is a valid reason for the coalition’s dissolution. He stressed that the unity that once held Azimio together has been severely compromised, making it increasingly challenging to continue collaborating effectively.

“Kenyans are saying that this government must go but some of our partners are saying it has to stay. Those are irreconcilable differences which are grounds for a divorce,” he stated.

“Martha Karua was here he has given notice, Peter Munya was here he has also given notice. Very soon Eugene and DAP will give notice. I can tell you as Azimio we have lost direction.

“We have sinned against the people of Kenya and fallen short of the glory but we are doing something about it and very soon you will hear from us,” he added.

Wamalwa’s remarks come on the heels of Azimio leader Raila Odinga openly admitting that he played a role in stabilizing President Ruto’s administration amid the Gen-Z protests that had called for its ouster.
