The Director of Criminal Investment (DCI) George Kinoti says he will continue discharging his mandate despite plans to oust him.
Speaking on Sunday during a memorial service to celebrate his departed parents in Meru County, Kinoti noted that his assignment is not an easy task, however saying he will continue on the path of integrity.
He then acknowledged that family and religion have played an important role in supporting him in carrying out his mandate.
“The assignment I was given was not a simple assignment, I have faced difficulties and persecution. I remember there was one time, people were crying that Kinoti is going to be committed to jail. I say this from the bottom of my heart, even is I was to go, I was to go for Kenyans,” said Kinoti.
This is as there have been plans to oust the DCI Boss, over contempt of court after failing to surrender guns belonging to businessman turned politician Jimi Wanjigi.
The guns were seized from Wanjigi following a raid on his Muthaiga home in Nairobi in 2017.
Wanjigi them moved to court seeking orders compelling Kinoti to return his guns, orders that were granted by Justice Chacha Mwita on 21st of June 2019.
Kinoti has also been involved in other cases, including one where he failed to execute a court order that directed the arrest of Mombasa finance executive Maryam Abdillahi Mbaruk in December 2018.
