Nyandarua Young Spykers Women’s Volleyball Team is appealing for financial support following a challenging season in the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) National Women’s League.

Young Spykers struggled in their maiden top-tier campaign, ultimately finishing at the bottom of the standings.

Despite the difficult run, head coach John Kimani commended his team for honoring all their league fixtures.

“I am calling upon well-wishers and stakeholders to offer us support, as we have a young and talented squad,” said Kimani.
“Despite a tough season, I’m proud of my players for fulfilling all our league commitments.”

The team faced logistical and financial constraints throughout the season, often traveling long distances without adequate resources.

Looking ahead, Kimani remains optimistic, targeting a stronger performance next season.

“This was our debut season in the league. We’ll go back to the drawing board and work on our weak areas,” he noted.

“It won’t be easy for our competitors next season — we’re aiming for a top-eight finish and a play-off spot.”

Kimani further emphasized that, with proper support, the Spykers have the potential to grow into a formidable side capable of competing with established teams in the league.
