Jambojet has suspended its Nairobi-Goma flights following reports that M23 rebels have seized control of the key eastern Democratic Republic of Congo city.
In a statement, Jambojet emphasized that the safety and security of its passengers and staff remain their top priority, and they are actively monitoring the situation in collaboration with key stakeholders in both Goma and Nairobi to assess the next steps.
“The safety and security of our guests and staff is our utmost priority. We are closely monitoring developments and will deliberate on the next steps with key stakeholders in both Goma and Nairobi,” Jambojet said in a statement.
The move comes as the ongoing conflict in eastern DRC has raised significant concerns for both local and international operations in the area.
Jambojet began operations on the Nairobi-Goma route in 2021 as part of its expansion into Central Africa.
