“There is a dirty spirit of opposition—opposing everything,” Ruto said.

“They oppose affordable housing, the vaccination of cattle to eliminate diseases, changing the system to save our universities, and even universal health coverage. They oppose government projects and even offerings in the church!”

“Many leaders, including those who hail from Taita Taveta, fought me because they hate this county and this country. They do not want any good things to happen here. A project like this factory—they are against it. Affordable housing? They oppose it. Vaccinating cattle to fight diseases? They oppose it. What is this evil spirit of opposition? Even universal health coverage to help our people—they are against it,” Ruto exclaimed.

Ruto was Speaking during DEVKI Iron Processing Project Groundbreaking Ceremony in Manga, Taita Taveta County.

“Recently, I saw other people glorify those who stopped the construction of the airport as heroes, what heroes? The airport is in a tent. Other countries are building their airports yet ours is not built. What gain do you get when you stop the building of an airport in your country and you lack alternative ideas and you have no clue how it will be built,” he added.

Accompanied by a section of his cabinet including the Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho who also took a swipe at youthful Kenyans threatening to expose him through the internet following his controversial sentiments against idle social media users.

“This is the only country where someone takes to social media to negatively comment about their leaders and use negative images to predict their fate,” Joho stated.
