World leaders congratulate Donald Trump for leading US presidential elections

World leaders have trooped to social media to congratulate Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump over his win  and stunning political comeback

Donald has secured 276 Electoral College votes to return to the White House for a second time after his 2017-2021 term and defeat Kamala Harris

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer congratulated Trump, saying that he looks forward to working with him in the coming years.

European Union President Ursula von der Leyen said The EU and the US are more than just allies and are bound by a true partnership between their people

Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky said he looks forward to an era of a strong United States of America under President Trump’s decisive leadership.

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has urged IEBC to draw lessons from the United States on the efficient management of elections, citing the recent swift and transparent results of the American presidential polls.

While congratulating the 47th president elect Donald Trump, Kalonzo said that the transparency and efficiency exhibited in the U.S elections suggests the need for reforms that prioritize the timely and credible communication of results to the Kenyan electorate.

His remarks come at a time when Kenya is yet to recruit new commissioners into the electoral body raising concerns over preparation for future elections.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has also congratulated Donald Trump and has described his victory as the biggest political comeback of a generation.
