Manchester United are on the brink of exiting the UEFA champions league after letting go of a two goals lead to draw 3-3 with Galatasary.
United took an early two goals lead inside 20 minutes but Onana’s poor attempt to stop Hakim Ziyech’s free-kick got Galatasaray back in the game before half-time .
United looked to have gained control again in what was a hostile atmosphere when Scott Mc Tominay turned in Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s cross 10 minutes after the break to make it 3-1.
However Ziyech was gifted a second goal from another free-kick by another Onana blunder. The Turkish side found the equalizer thereafter but United squandered chances to come away with a point.
Former United legend Paul Scholes has hit back at Bruno Fernandes‘ post match criticism of his side, telling the Man United captain to ‘take responsibility’ after he ‘gave two fouls away that led to goals.
‘We had too many chances, as I’ve said, and mistakes by ourselves. It’s too bad, to be honest. I don’t want to be too negative, but what we’ve been doing in the Champions League is not enough.’ a disappointed Scholes added.
The result has left Man United’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League knockouts hanging by a thin thread and will need to beat Bayern Munich and hope other results go their way to win.
