Manchester United fall to Bayern Munich in the UCL to lose three in row

Manchester United began their Champions league campaign on a wrong footing to continue with their poor form in the new season .

Bayern who looked not to have turned to the second gear got the lead through Leroy Sane after United goalkeeper Andre Onana failed to grab the weak shot.

Serge Gnabry shortly after made it two before halftime after some good work from youngster Jamal Musiala. United pulled one back just after half time this time Rasmus Hojlund on the mark on his champions league debut.

Bayern restored the two goal cushion after Eriksen was judged to have handled in the area for a penalty that Harry Kane converted.

Casemiro pulled another one back for United to make it 3-2 but again United defense was exposed to allow substitute Mathys Tel to make it 4-2.

It was not over for United who tried to fight back and Casemiro again headed from close range from a Bruno Fernandez freekick for a seven goal thriller.

United keeper Onana took responsibility of the loss for gifting the first goal which he says changed the game after a fine start.

“It’s difficult. We started very good. After my mistake we lost control of the game. It’s a difficult situation for us, for me especially because I’m the one who let the team down.” Onana added

The loss means Manchester United has lost three in row by three goals or more for the the first time since 1978!

On Saturday they travel to play Burnley in the Premier league and Erik ten Hag will be looking for a response.
