UNHCR Hold talks To Tame sudan Humanitarian crisis

The UN Human Rights Council will hold an emergency session in Geneva, to discuss the ongoing conflict in Sudan.

There are reports of widespread human rights violations, including attacks on civilians, sexual violence and the looting of hospitals.

Thousands of people have been displaced and aid agencies say they cannot work safely.

Several African nations, including Sudan, are reported to be reluctant about the meeting being held, fearing it could jeopardize ongoing ceasefire negotiations.

The session was called for by Britain, the US, Germany, and Norway.
