Pres. Ruto: Doping Will Be Subdued

President William Ruto says the government has set aside Sh3.7 billion to aid the fight against doping over the next five years.


In a meeting with the head of World Athletics Lord Sebastian Coe at State House Nairobi, the head of state revealed their meeting centered on a wide range of issues pertaining to athletics key among them injecting more funds to fight the doping vice .

“We will collaborate with partners, sportsmen and their contacts to tackle doping that threatens our heritage,” said President Ruto.


Sports CS Ababu Namwamba, who was also present in the meeting, expressed gratitude to Sebastian for sparing Kenya from a potential athletics ban last year over increased doping cases.

Moreover, Namwamba outlined the measures the government is implementing as promised in his address to Coe last month in a bid to save Kenya from the ban.
