Senegal will play England in the last 16 tie

Senegal will play England in the last 16 of the FIFA world cup after a 2-1 win over Ecuardo.

Ismaila Sarr dispatched a penalty in the first half after a good spell of possession for the Lions of Teranga.

Moises Caicedo cancelled out the penalty before defender and captain Koulibaly’s side-footer won it.

Ecuardo went into the match needing only a draw to sail through but Senegal had other ideas.

England on the other hand beat Wales 3-0 with two goals from Rashford and another from Phil Foden.

Coach Aliou Cisse was uncontrollable after leading his side to the last 16 coming from the AFCON success and without his star man Sadio Mane who is injured.

In the same group A Netherlands finished top after a two nil win over hosts Qatar. That means Netherlands will play USA who beat Iran to sail through as Group B runners -up.

Christian Pulisic got the goal for the Americans who had to win against Iran to go through.
