African side show intent in the FIFA world cup

Morocco began their world cup campaign with a barren draw against 2018 finalists Croatia.

The atlas lions were good on the ball but lacked the finishing touch. They however managed to keep Croatia away from their goal to register the all-important point.

Morocco next play Belgium who are one of the favorites of the tournament .

On Tuesday another African team Tunisia managed to secure a point in a barren draw against Denmark.

Tunisia play Australia this Saturday and a win will give them a big chance to move to the knockout stage.

Tunisia coach Jalel Kadri praised the fans for pushing the players to earn the important point.

“The fan factor was very positive for us. It mentally gave us a great lift and we are looking forward to seeing the fans continue to do that for us,” Kadri said.

The other two African countries Cameroon and Ghana begin their campaign on Thursday. Cameroon play Switzerland and Ghana will be up against Cristiano Ronaldo side Portugal.

So far Senegal is the only Africa’s side that has lost after they went down 2-0 against Netherlands.
