Win over Liverpool is a confidence booster-ten Hag

Manchester United Manager Erik ten Hag says he is confident the team will rise from one of the worst start of the league and challenge for the title.

Speaking after the 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Old trafford on monday night, the united manager hailed his selection for the fisrt eleven where he left out Cristiano Ronaldo and captain Harry Maguire.

United had a near outstanding display to pin Liverpool and give manager Erik ten Hag his first Premier League victory at a thunderous Old Trafford.

Jadon Sancho showed superb control and composure to deservedly put United in front after 16 minutes before Marcus Rashford raced clear to beat Alisson from substitute Anthony Martial’s pass eight minutes after the interval.

Mohammed Salah set up a tense finish when he scrambled in a header with nine minutes left but United survived to give Ten Hag just the sort of triumph he needs to make his mark at Old Trafford.

Manchester united now sit 14th on the table while Liverpool without a win in three matches are 16th on the log.

The old Trafford side next plays Southampton and the St. Mary’s and the reds host Bournemouth at Anfield.
