Mozambique records 9 cases of paralysis in children

Mozambique has recorded nine cases of paralysis in children who are suspected to have contracted polio over the first half of the year.

The suspected polio cases have been registered in the southern Inhambane province raising concern among health authorities.

Health officials have now started vaccinating children against the disease, with  so far 196,000 having been vaccinated.

They have also embarked on a mission to identify new cases of children with signs of the disease.
