Liverpool hit Man.United 4-0 as Anfield condoles with Ronaldo

Liverpool on top of the EPL table after a four nil thrashing of Manchester United on Tuesday night.

Mo Salah scored twice with Sadio Mane and Luiz Diaz each getting a goal to add misery to the old Trafford side that now drops to fifth on the table.

Liverpool were way superior to United who missed the services of Cristiano Ronaldo who is on compassionate leave. The win means Liverpool have scored nine goals against United in the season having scored five in the first leg without reply.

Manchester City play Brighton looking for a win that will return them top of the table by one point.

Meanwhile Manchester United and Liverpool supporters united in a fan-led minute of applause at Anfield in support of Cristiano Ronaldo and his family following the death of his baby boy.

Liverpool fans sang their club’s anthem ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ in the seventh minute – Ronaldo’s shirt number at United – of the league match.

The Portugal international missed Tuesday’s match between the two rivals.
