Scrappy wins for big boys at the AFCON in day two

Sadio Mane penalty seven minutes into added time enabled below average  Senegal to beat Zimbabwe 1-0 in their Africa Cup of Nations Group B opener.

The defeat was hard to take for Zimbabwe who had held on for 90 plus minutes only to concede a penalty from a hand ball in the area.

Senegal were far from their best after only being able to name 17 players, out of a squad of 28, through a mix of Covid cases and injuries.

Morocco managed a one nil win over Ghana in a below expectation match .

Sofiane Boufal’s 82nd-minute strike handed was enough to settle the tie .

Morocco and Ghana have been seen s the favorites in the group that also has Gabon and Comoros.

Guinea beat Malawi 1-0 and Gabon also won with same margin against Comoros.
