One of Liberia’s senior opposition figures Alexander Cummings is facing forgery allegations.

An arrest warrant issued by the Monrovia City Court wants Cummings to answer to the crime of forgery and criminal conspiracy linked to the alleged forgery of the coalition’s documents.

The case against Cummings was brought to court by a party in the opposition coalition, the All Liberian Party (ALP).

The leader has however denied the allegations.

He claims the All Liberian Party (ALP) made the move following failed mechanisms to resolve internal disputes.

He says there are many disagreements within the coalition however most parties are now ready to work together.

He further alleges that the ALP wanted to leave the coalition and is being used by the government to create disunity within the opposition.

“This action will leave us undeterred, we are determined to run our political course and make our case to the Liberian people,” he said.

Mr. Cummings is the Chairman of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP), and the standard bearer of the opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC).
