Liverpool to face Arsenal in Carabao cup semi as Chelsea take on Spurs

Liverpool set up the tie after coming from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with Leicester and win 5-4 on penalties.

Chelsea on the other hand beat Brentford 2-0 and Spurs warned a hard fought 2-1 win over West ham in the quarter final.

Chelsea’s meeting with Spurs is a repeat of the 2015 final, when the Blues won 2-0 at Wembley.

Both semi-finals are scheduled to take place over two legs – with the first of each played in the week commencing 3 January 2022.

The deciding legs will take place in the week commencing 10 January, with the final at Wembley on 27 February.

The semis for the four sides will also mean more fixtures for them after a number of postponed league matches due to the coronavirus outbreak.

FA cup fixtures are also expected to kick in in January with Liverpool and Chelsea also involved in the UEFA champions league last sixteen that starts in February.
