Premier League football clubs and all stadiums hosting sporting events are set to be forced by the government to demand fans show vaccine passports to attend.
Vaccine passports would mean the Premier League will be asked to ensure all their 20 clubs ask every supporter attending matches to show their vaccine certification.
The new regulations will also affect every Football League club as well as Premiership Rugby, horse racing meets and every major sporting event .
There are 10 Premier League matches planned for this weekend.
West Ham and Tottenham have home European fixtures on Thursday night, after when the new restrictions could have be introduced.
Top-flight clubs discussed the new potential regulations at last Friday’s Premier League shareholder meeting.
