The National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) has resolved guidelines that will directly govern political aspirants as they gear towards the 2022 general polls. The change occurred during their 64th general assembly meetings.

The set guidelines revolve around worship participation in the church services, congregational  speeches, directives on tithing and offerings and accountability forums.

Additionally, Church leaders have been urged to refrain from commissioning persons seeking political office henceforth.

The Guidelines also include ministering to Politicians Before, During and After the 2022 polls.

The church will also not show preference to any political aspirants, no political leader or aspirant will be allowed to speak to the congregation from the pulpit.

his comes even after several religious groups have risen up in their quest for church roles during the election times.

The meeting took place  from 23rd to 26th of August this year at the Jumuia Conference and Country Home, Limuru.
