Manchester United hit SIX past Roma as Arsenal go down 2-1 to Villareal

Manchester United is well into the final of the Europa league after the 6-2 drubbing of AS Roma at Old Trafford.

Edinson Cavani and Bruno Fernandez scored twice with Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood wrapping up the win .

United had a slow start despite scoring first after eight minutes but Roma rallied back with Lorenzo Pellegrini and Edin Dzeko goals.

But the second half saw the Italian side crumble and concede five goals and now have a mission impossible in Rome next week.

United Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s double fist-pump reaction to Cavani’s equalizer underlined the importance of Cavani’s effort in the win.

Ole now says he wants to convince Cavani to sign one more year at Old Trafford after former players Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves hailed his performance.

In Spain Arsenal will hang on the Nicola Pepe away goal from the spot despite losing 2-1 to their former manager Unai Emer side Villareal.

Arsenal were also in a slow start and conceded two quick goals that was capped by the Dani Ceballos sending off in the second half.

Manager Mikel Arteta will have Bukayo Saka to thank for his hard work earning the penalty after he was brought down in the area for Pepe to convert.

The Gunners now need a one nil win at the Emirates stadium to set up an all English Europa league final against Manchester United .
