Kenya Airways Acting Chief Commercial Officer Julius Thairu has suspended domestic flights from Nairobi. Flights from Nairobi to Mombasa and Kisumu will cease, effective Mid-day today March 29, 2021.
This grounding of flights is as a result of cessation of movement by President Uhuru Kenyatta. Among counties listed in the cessation include; Nairobi, Machakos, Kiambu, Nakuru and Kajiado.
To this effect, the number of scheduled flights till mid-day today have been increased.
“We sincerely apologize to all our customers for the inconvenience and reiterate that our crew, staff, and country’s safety remains our priority,” says KQ.
Those affected by the changes are advised to review their bookings for later travel or request a refund.
This move follows the carriers’ efforts to boost its revenue and recover its loses.
