President Uhuru Kenyatta says priority of vaccination will be for frontline workers

March, 4th 2021 – President Uhuru Kenyatta has flagged off the countrywide distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine, at the Central Vaccine Depot in Kitengela Kajiado County, ahead of the launch of a national vaccination campaign tomorrow.

The President reiterated Government’s commitment to ensure the success of the vaccination exercise, and urged Kenyans to continue observing Covid-19 containment protocols.

He cautioned Kenyans including the media to stop peddling falsehoods on the Covid-19 vaccination exercise, saying frontline health workers and service providers will be the first in line to receive the vaccine.

Meanwhile, Kenya has today recorded 185 Covid-19 recoveries. 102 from the Home-Care program and 83 from different hospitals. The total number of recoveries now stands at 87,099.

However, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe says, 528 new cases were recorded out of a sample size of 6,291.

4 patients have succumbed, pushing the country’s cumulative fatalities to 1,870. The total number now stands at 107,329.
