Trump hints at 2024 presidential bid

March 1st 2021 Former US president Donald Trump says he has no intentions to launch a new political party, telling a conservative conference in Florida that it would split the Republican vote.

In his first speech since Democrat Joe Biden became president, In Florida ,he also hinted that he might run for office again in 2024.

Trump strongly criticized his successor, saying US policy had gone from “America first to America last”.

The speech comes weeks after he was acquitted in an impeachment trial.

“With your help, we will take back the House, we will win the Senate and then a Republican president will make a triumphant return to the White House. I wonder who will that be?” he said, smiling. “Who, who, who will that be, I wonder.”

In a straw poll, 55% of CPAC conference participants said they would vote for Trump in the 2024 Republican presidential nominating race. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis came in second at 21%.

The former president remains banned from social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, over his response to January’s deadly riot at the US Capitol.
