Faith Alliance sets 22nd June for prayers following ojwang death, surge in police excesses

The Kenya coalition of church alliances and ministries (KCCAM) has convened a national day of prayer on Sunday the 22nd of June to pray for the nation over the increasing cases of unrest drawn from cases of police brutality with the latest case involving Albert Ojwang who was killed while in police custody a week ago.

The executive board of the Kenya coalition of church alliances and ministries says the day to be marked across all members’ churches, will be dedicated to interceding for the nation and pray for healing, restoration and the  peace of the Lord for Kenya .

This as the alliance joined in condemning the circumstances leading to the death of Ojwang’ and urged IPOA to expedite investigations and bring the perpetrators to book.

The faith lobby also challenged President  Willianm Ruto to assure  Kenyans of his commitment to see justice served even as it urged all political leaders alike to tone down on political rallies.

The faithful in a statement has also urged the police to exercise restraint towards demonstrators maintaining that picketing is a legal right.
