The Kenya Christian Professionals Forum (KCPF) has welcomed the move by the inspector general of police Douglas Kanja to interdict unnamed officers linked to the murder of Albert Ojwang’.
The professional faith lobby says the move aligns with the guiding principles of accessing justice and a fair hearing for the victims’ family.
In a statement, KCPF chairman Charles Kanjama has further condemned the use of excessive force by the police and called upon the youth to remain vigilant in urging for accountability from those in authority.
He has also called on churches to provide spiritual guidance to the nation and shun from enabling bad governance in the country.
The statement from KCPF joins the growing list of faith leaders, condemning the circumstances leading to the death of murder of Albert Ojwang’.
An autopsy has ruled out self inflicted injuries as his cause of death following reports by the police that Ojwang was found unconscious at at the central police station before being rushed to the hospital.
According to a pathology report released this afternoon, Ojwang died from neck compression.
