Kevin Yoga has been appointed as the new Evangelical Alliance of Kenya national coordinator for a period of three years subject to renewal
He is taking over from Jairus Webuye whose six years tenure has lapsed this year
Yoga who has played a vital role in church-led advocacy, discipleship, and interdenominational collaboration is joining EAK when the organisation is set to mark its jubilee come September this year
Yoga holds a Bachelor of Computer Science and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Theological Studies, he also holds certifications in transformational leadership and strategic project management.
Speaking to Pearl Radio, Yoga said he met the appointment with varied reactions but remains optimistic to continue leading and championing for change at the alliance. Th
”The appointment came with varied feelings both anxious over the expectations of the organisation and excitement. This is because we are celebrating 50 years on September and there are goals that as an organisaton need to be met and maintained.” He stated.
H added that ”In terms of experience, exposure, impact, there is need to consolidate the evangelicals, because we are fragmented everywhere.”
Yoga is also the Programme Manager and Head of Secretariat at Kenya Christian Professional Forum.
The Evangelical Alliance of Kenya (EAK) is the national Umbrella organization for evangelical churches in Kenya.
It was established in 1975 as Evangelical Fellowship of Kenya under the auspices of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA). AEA is a member of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA).
