Reverend Kathy Kiuna of the Jubilee Christian Church has revealed that a local lender wrote off a significant amount of a bank loan that the church had a secured in the yesteryears to purchase a church land.
Speaking when she convened a special memorial service to mark a year since the passing of her late husband Bishop Allan Kiuna, Kathy revealed that the church had obtained 250 million Kenya shillings 15 years ago, as loan, which had accrued interests totaling to over 649 million shillings.
But upon repayment of over 453 million shillings, the church was plagued with a loan balance of over 196 million shillings in just a few days after the passing of Kiuna.
While making the testimony in the service attended by a host of clergy and other faith leaders last evening, Rev Kathy noted that the bank contacted her to write off over 120 million shillings and further got a breakthrough in an hour when friends pledged to clear the balance of over 70 million shillings.
However, her friends, who pledged to support her were constrained to pay the loan in due time. Kathy revealed that the bank had given the church until end of June 2025 to pay the loan balance
She went further to state that she was considering to sell her home, fearing embarrassment of loan default.
Miraculously, her friends who had pledged to help clear the loan honored their end of the bargain and cleared the balance before due days, she announced.
The church was thrown into ululation when she made the testimony, adding that the Jubilee Christian Church has now secured its title deed after fifteen years.
The founder and Senior Pastor of Deliverance Church International JB Masinde who was present in the service issued a public apology to the young generation dubbed the gen z over what he described as targeted attacks by the older generations in the recent uprising demanding for better reforms and governance
Masinde said the country’s clergy and other faith believers withdraw any sentiments made to frustrate the revolution.
According to the man of cloth there is a rebirth of christian workers and touted any dissenting voices as destructions from the enemy.
His sentiments were shared by Rev Teresiah Wairimu and a host of other faith leaders who graced the memorial services at the JCC Parkland church last night
