Jambojet wins African low-cost airline title for third consecutive year

Kenya’s low-cost carrier, Jambojet, has been named Africa’s Leading Low-Cost Airline for the third consecutive year by the World Travel Awards. These awards recognize excellence in the tourism and airline industries.

Jambojet’s CEO, Karanja Ndegwa, attributed the recognition to the airline’s commitment to quality service and innovation. He expressed pride in the achievement, especially as the airline celebrates its 10th anniversary while continuing to expand its regional presence.

“This remarkable achievement is a result of our ongoing commitment to provide safe, reliable and accessible air travel across the region,” Mr Ndegwa said. “To be recognised as Africa’s leading low-cost carrier three times in a row is extraordinary, and comes at the right time, as we mark 10 years in operations, eye further expansion across the region and advancing our global strategy.”

Ndegwa emphasized that Jambojet’s growth strategy is centered on serving underserved markets by expanding its routes and enhancing service.

“We will continue to pursue our growth strategy across the region of serving the unserved and underserved markets, by adding additional routes and more frequencies to our existing routes, giving our customers more to choose from, while also optimizing our operations,” added Mr Ndegwa.

The airline currently operates both local and regional routes, including Mombasa, Malindi, Eldoret, Zanzibar, and Goma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
