State puts employers on notice over SHA compliance amid Rollout issues

The Social Health Authority (SHA) has mandated employers to remit monthly contributions by the 9th day of each month at a rate of 2.75 percent of gross salaries.

The remittances of this month are expected to be wired to six bank accounts.

SHA has emphasized the importance of compliance to avoid potential arrests and other legal consequences, urging all employers to inform their organizations accordingly.

Services in the universal health coverage were moved to the new social health authority on July 1st with its strained rollout two months later

However,  up to 52 pc of private hospitals are yet to be fully onboarded in the new health scheme with only 12 million Kenyana registered as beneficiaries.
