ODM leader Raila Odinga meets section of the private sector

ODM leader Raila Odinga says his main agenda for the country is to better the economic status of the country if elected President .

Speaking during his meeting with the private sector alliance , the former premier declared his intention to ensure there is a conducive environment tackle corruption in the sector in order to influence product manufacturing and trade in the country.

He also underscored the importance of close working relationship between the private sector and government that will provide confidence to prospective international investors.

Odinga added that the export of finished goods will increase the country’s revenue, create jobs, offer foreign currency reserves and boost international competitiveness.

In this, he insisted that the Azimio movement will drive towards supporting a shift from exporting raw materials and agricultural produce, instead venture into industrial manufacturing with eyes on the international markets.

Meanwhile, the Azimio movement will endorse government sponsored monthly trade promotion meetings. The promotions will bring together highest-level government officials, key ministries, exporters, researchers, education institutions and trading companies for exchange of ideas.
