Nyeri Deputy Governor moves to Court over salary arrears

The Nyeri deputy governor Dr. Caroline Karugu has taken the county Governor Mutahi Kahiga and the County Secretary to court over alleged retaining of her salary and allowances.

Through the deputy governor’s lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui, she says she is yet to receive her salary and office allowances dated since November 2019.

The deputy governor says she has had to spend up to Ksh.442,107 for fuel and spends Ksh.15,000 monthly for her security.

Dr. Karugu claims a total of Ksh.685,250 that is due remittance as her pay.

The deputy governor also states that she has not been invited to any county’s cabinet meetings.

Dr.Karugu also says that she finances office duties from her own money. 

The court has registered the case for mentioning on September 16 2021.
