Ariel Henry appointed new Haiti’s prime Minister

Haiti has appointed a new prime minister, Ariel Henry following the assassination of their former president Jovenel Moïse.

This comes as the president had instructed Henry to assume leadership 2 days before his assassination in Port-au-Prince.

Though Haiti’s interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph was in a strife with Mr. Henry, he stepped down on claims that Henry’s appointment would pave the way for elections in September.

Moise was killed on 7 July when a group of gunmen stormed his private residence, opened fire on him and his wife, leaving her critically injured.
