The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has surpassed its revenue target in 8 years of supporting the government’s annual spending.
The financial year 2020/2021 has seen the agency reach a new record of Sh 1.669 trillion, as opposed to Sh 1.607 trillion, collected in 2019/2020.
According to the 2021 Budget Policy Statement, the 2020/2021 revenue target was Sh. 1.652 trillion.
The agency has since surpassed this with a surplus of Sh.16.81 billion.
The National Treasury has set the 2021/2022 revenue target at Sh. 1.78 trillion , hoping the economy will rebound.
