Justice William Ouko has called on the Chief Justice Martha Koome to bring the stalemate on the backlog of appeals at the courts to a closure.
Speaking during the oath taking ceremony of Justice Daniel Musinga as the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ouko said the backlog will keep spiraling due to the lack of enough judges.
Justice Ouko further said,Kenya’s developmental vision 2030, alongside big 4 agenda will remain mere aspirations, with the pending cases of more than 10 years
While being sworn in as the President of the Court of Appeal Justice Daniel Musinga assured of service delivery within the judiciary.
Musinga’s swearing in follows his election on 24th of May, by judges of Appeal to replace Justice William Ouko who is the judge of the Supreme Court.
Initially he was the chairman of the Judiciary Committee on Elections after taking over from High Court judge Msagha Mbogholi in January.
Justice Musinga was admitted to the bar in 1988, appointed the High Court judge in 2003, and has served in Nakuru and Kisii counties.
