Kisumu county has issued a draft of new Covid-19 safety measures, following an upsurge in the Covid cases especially in Kisumu central.
Kisumu governor Anyang’ Nyong’o says security officials will ensure all the measures are observed.
He says there will be a fresh crackdown on boda boda riders and public service vehicles not complying with the Covid-19 protocols.
He also noted that those mostly affected by Covid-19 are persons aged 58 years and above.
Meanwhile Homa Bay County Health department offices have been closed for a week after five staff members tested positive for Covid-19.
