Pathologists Lancet Kenya (PLK) has introduced a number of lab equipment at its main reference lab in Nairobi.
This is in a bid to save on time spent waiting for lab results by patients and clinicians.
The company affirms that the deal will ease accurate diagnosis of illnesses and improve health care provision.
The equipment manufactured by Abbott laboratories, a US firm, enables lancet Kenya to process an additional 1,200 tests per hour.
PLK chief Consultant Pathologist Charles Wahome, says, their priority is to see that very investment speed up delivery of test results, giving clinicians more time with patients.
Currently more than 4,000 different types of tests are conducted by PLK.
