The Nigerian government will prosecute anyone found breaching the country’s ban on the social media firm Twitter. On Friday, the Nigerian government suspended Twitter’s operations in the country.
Mobile phone networks blocked access after being ordered to do so, however some users are getting around the ban.
Some users saw his post, which referred to Nigeria’s civil war 40 years ago, as a veiled threat towards a secessionist movement in south-east of the country
His government said on Saturday the tweet’s removal was disappointing, however it is not the only reason for the temporary suspension of twitter.
It cited the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.
