Jan, 20th 2021 – Michael Olunga’s new club Al Duhail SC will play Al Ahly of Egypt in the quarter-finals of the Fifa Club World Cup to be staged in Qatar.
The winner of the match will face Europe champions Bayern Munich in the semi-final. Olunga’s club was pulled into the tournament after Auckland City of Australia pulled out of the showpiece due to the COVID 19 protocols in their country.
In the other match, Tigres will take on Asian Champions Ulsan Hyundai with the winner taking on either Palmeiras or Santos, who face off in the Copa Libertadores final on January 30.
Olunga joined the Qatar club last week from Kashiwa Reysol in Japan where he had played for two seasons. He left as top scorer in the ended season and also helped them back to the top flight a season ago.
