Dec, 16th 2020 – The Kenya under 17 soccer team has suffered a 5-0 drubbing in the hands of neighbors Uganda in the second match of the group of the CECAFA under 17 tournament.
Mawa Oscar scored a hat-trick with Mutyaba Travis and Gava Peter grabbing a goal each.
Under coach Oliver Page, the Junior Stars maintained their starting eleven from their opening match against Ethiopia which ended 2-2.
Uganda went into half time break with a 1-0 lead and on resuming they continued to battle the Junior Stars and upon the 50th minute, Mawa made it 2-0.
Uganda was 4-0 up in the 78th minute as Mutyaba wrote his name on the scoring sheet after overpowering the Junior Stars defender to head home after a corner-kick.
Kenya started the tournament with a 2-2 draw against Ethiopia.
The boys will next play South Sudan in the last group game They have to win to have any hope of the semis after being to a 2-2 draw in the first match against Ethiopia.
