HAMILTON WILL RACE IN ABU DHABI

Dec, 11th 2020 – Lewis hamilton will take part in this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after testing negative for Covid-19. The seven-time world champion missed the Sakhir Grand Prix in Bahrain last weekend after contracting coronavirus.

Formula 1’s governing body the FIA confirmed that Hamilton had returned a “number of negative Covid-19 tests” before travelling for the final race of the season.

In a statement, Mercedes said, “Lewis tested negative for COVID-19 on Wednesday prior to completion of his self-isolation period in Bahrain. This enabled him to travel to Abu Dhabi on Thursday afternoon, and he tested negative on arrival.”

Lewis has therefore completed the protocols required by the FIA for his entry to the paddock and will be able to take part in the race weekend,” the statement continued.

Fellow Briton, George Russell, who starred on his Mercedes debut at the Sakhir Grand Prix as Hamilton’s stand-in, will now return to Williams.

Lewis has therefore completed the protocols required by the FIA for his entry to the paddock and will be able to take part in the race weekend.”
