UEFA champions league: RB Leipzig beat Manchester 3-2

Dec, 9th 2020 – Manchester United are out of the UEFA champions league after a 3-2 loss to RB Leipzig at the red bull arena. United were poor in the first half of the game going down one nil just after three minutes with an Angelino drill past David De gea.

United were two down inside 13 minutes as Haidara tapped in in a defensive mix-up. Justin Kluivert added a third to take the tie beyond United. Two quick goals from Fernandez on the spot and Pogba were not enough to rescue a rather below par old Trafford side.

The loss means United drop to the Europa league and join the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal who have made it to the next round.

The immediate concern for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on Saturday. Fred is expected to return after being left in Manchester in the champions league tie as he served his one match ban from two yellow cards.

Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial will also be in contention to start against City.
