Dec, 9th 2020 – Champions Gor mahia will play Ulinzi stars in their first match of the league after both sides agreed to sign the broadcasting rights for the Football Kenya premier league. The two will face off at Kasarani on Saturday.
Mathare United and Zoo kericho are yet to indicate if they will take part in the league by agreeing to the broadcasting rights.
The league management committee has already intimated that those who will not have signed the agreement by the weekend will have to be excluded from the league .
Speaking to Standard Sports, Gor team manager confirmed the postponement of their Wednesday match against Ulinzi Stars is off.
He said, “We were looking forward to the midweek match but received communication the match will be carried forward. It’s good for us considering our heavy continental duties as our players will be more ready for the weekend game.“
Gor, in the 2020-2021 FKF Premier League, has not played any match after being away on continental duties where they beat Rwanda’s APR 4-3 on aggregate to book a first round tie against CR Belouizdad of Algeria in the Caf Champions League.
In the new fixtures, the match will kick off at 3pm and will also be live on TV.
On their social media account, Ulinzi stars also confirmed that they are back in the league saying, “The dust has settled. We start off our season this weekend. Saturday, to be precise. we face off with the reigning champions, Gor Mahia at Kasarani starting 3 pm.”
