Dec, 3rd 2020 – Aston Villa have reportedly slapped a huge £100million price tag on the head of star man Jack Grealish in an attempt to ward off interest from top clubs around Europe.
Grealish has been in incredible form this season for Villa, netting his fifth goal of the Premier League season against West Ham on Monday night. Grealish has been heavily linked with both Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham in previous months, but no side came in with a serious bid for him in the summer.
Telegraph reported that the club’s decision has left any prospective buyers knowing that they will have to make him the most expensive British player in history if they decide to sign him.
It is written that Villa are confident of holding him through barring a ridiculous offer and the club also thinks they can convince him to stay longer should they have a positive season on the pitch.
Villa managed to tie their captain down to a lucrative new five year contact adding onto his impressive form this season which has led to villa now valuing him at £100m.
It has also been reported that even with a tempting bid from a top European side, Villa’s owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens would be under no financial pressure to sell.
