PSG BEAT MANCHESTER UNITED 1-3 TO SET UP A MOUTHWATERING TIE AT RB LEIPZIG ON TUESDAY

Dec, 3rd 2020 – Manchester United will need to win their last match of Champions League group stages against RB Leipzig to be assured a place in the last 16 after losing  3-1 at old Trafford to PSG.

Marcus Rashford had cancelled out Neymar early opener with his third goal in four games against the French outfit. However, Marquinos’ excellent second-half finish put the visitors back in front and after United midfielder Fred had been sent off for a foul on Ander Herrera.

Neymar tapped home his 38th Champions League goal in added time. Even though Manchester United remain top of the group on goal difference, PSG play Basaksehir who have no hopes of qualifying and a loss in Germany next week will mean they drop to Europa league.

Following the win, things will get hotter especially for the last 16 berth. Week six in this group will see a relentless race among the three clubs.

United, PSG and Leipzig all have nine points. Only the best two teams will advance to the next phase in the Championship League. The third place team will enter the second-tier UEFA Europa League knockout stage.

The Champions League group stage will end next week. In the next fixture, Basaksehir will visit PSG.
