The Eswatini government which was formerly known as Swaziland, has announced the transfer of Prime Minister, Ambrose Dlamini, to a hospital in South Africa.
The 52-year-old Dlamini tested positive for Coronavirus, in November this year. At the time he said he was said to be asymptomatic, and feeling well while isolating at home.
However on Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku said Dlamini was responding well to treatment, “To guide and fast track the recovery, a decision has been taken that he be transferred to a South African hospital this afternoon,” Masuku announced in a statement.
All the prime minister’s close contacts have been tested and are isolating.
The country has so far confirmed 6,442 Covid-19 cases and 122 deaths.
