Nov 27th 2020 – The body of the late Matungu MP Justus Murunga will finally be buried, after the court lifted orders stopping the funeral plans.
The burial plans had been put to a stop pending the hearing of a case filed by Agnes Wambui, who claimed she has been in a seven-year relationship with the MP, and had two children with him.
The initial date for MP’s burial which was slated for November 28th 2020, was stopped by the Court after Wangui filed the petition.
The widows to the late MP, Christabel Murunga and Grace Murunga who later moved to court, argued that the delay in the burial plans was tormenting the family.
In today’s hearing, the court dismissed Wambui’s grounds to have the burial delayed further, and ordered that she and her children, meet with their pathologist at Lee Funeral home, for purposes of collecting samples for DNA analysis.
The burial is set for 5th December 2020.
