Nov, 23rd 2020 – The Kenyan under 20 national soccer team also known as the rising stars have started the CECAFA under 20 campaign with a 3-0 win over Ethiopia.
The Kenyan boys coached by Stanley Okumbi opened the scoring in the 39th minute through Benson Omala. The former Harambee Star strategist earlier said, “We have never qualified for the Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations and I believe if we play our cards right, win matches and improve on the mistakes that saw us lose last year’s finals, we can qualify.”
Ronald Reagan and Enock Wanyama scored in the second period to wrap up the win. The rising stars will play Sudan in the second match on Friday.
Tanzania opened the tournament on Sunday against Djibouti hitting them 6-1.
